Nanaimo-Ladysmith students reminded of e-scooter rules with school starting

With the start of the 2026/27 school year approaching, Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools officials are reminding students of the rules of e-scooter and e-bike usage.
The first day of school is Sept. 8 and as per B.C. government regulations, e-scooter riders must be 16 years old and older, while e-bike riders must be older than 14 years. As such, elementary school students are asked to not bring either to school, School District 68 stated in a note to families.
