Nanaimo-based junior Pirates put out Blaze, win provincial baseball title

Youth baseball players from Nanaimo and area are revelling at being the best in B.C.
The junior Mid-Island Pirates, of the B.C. Premier Baseball League, captured the provincial title going 4-0 in the championship tournament in Langley from Aug. 5-9. Two of their victories came against the Langley Blaze and Brandon Dornan, team coach and general manager, told the News Bulletin he was proud of his team’s play.
