Major sewer upgrade in Nanaimo put on hold

City of Nanaimo wants to crunch the numbers more before it begins the next stage of the Millstone Trunk Sanitary Sewer Upgrades project.
Philip Stewart, the city’s manager of engineering products, told Nanaimo’s finance and audit committee at its meeting on July 15, that staff want to review the infrastructure project this summer after tender bids for the initiative were received which were significantly above its approved budget.
