Liberals sweep in byelections in B.C., Ontario, Quebec

The Liberals are now up to 173 seats in the House of Commons after winning three byelections on Monday (Aug. 31).
Braeden Caley won in North Vancouver-Capilano in B.C., Tanveer Shahnawaz won in Beaches-East York in Ontario and Daniel Gobeil won in Chicoutimi—Le Fjord in Quebec.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, in a statement after Monday’s results, that “at this consequential time for Canada, voters have placed their trust in Canada’s plan.”
