Ladysmith baseball star wins national gold

Winning a gold medal when there really is no practicing as a team might sound hard, but for Ladysmith’s 19-year-old Mercedez Johnson it just seems normal.
The local athlete is just coming off winning five out of six games at the baseball 2026 Canadian Women’s National Championship in Winnipeg. Johnson has been playing for the B.C. Aces for five years.
