Illegal Shawnigan Lake fireworks display under provincial investigation

Those responsible for an illegal fireworks display near the Galley Restaurant at Shawnigan Lake on July 19 were not ticketed by police, but the incident remains under investigation by provincial authorities.
Shawnigan Lake RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alex Bérubé said the fireworks, which began around 10 p.m. and lasted just under 30 minutes, were part of a wedding celebration.
