Earthquakes, even small ones, unusual in the Kootenays
The Kootenay community woke up to the rumblings of an earthquake in the early morning of Sep. 17.
At around 5:30 a.m. PT on the east shore of Kootenay Lake near Grey Creek, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck, as reported by Earthquakes Canada.
People reported feeling the earthquake in Nelson and throughout the Kootenays, including in Cranbrook and Trail. As of now, no damages or injuries have been reported.
