Difficult terrain, ‘stubborn fire behaviour’ causing challenges at Bald Range blaze near Summerland

As the battle of the Bald Range wildfire continues, BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) said a combination of factors made some suppression efforts difficult on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Throughout Wednesday, BCWS experienced “hot and dry conditions” which led to increased fire activity. At this time, the fire is listed at 22,693 hectares.
