2nd ‘out of control’ wildfire discovered in Sooke region

Hours after a small wildfire was discovered near Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, a second sparked in the Sooke Hills Sunday evening (Sept. 20).
Both fires are listed by the BC Wildfire Service as ‘out of control’, meaning they are spreading or are expected to spread beyond their current perimeter or control lines.
The Leech River wildfire in the Sooke Hills is said to be two hectares in size, with aviation resources supporting response efforts.
The cause of the fire is under investigat
