Worker injured in argon gas leak at the CHUM
The Montreal fire department said that one person was injured following an argon gas leak in a radiology room at the CHUM.
Ten people were evacuated from the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal just after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Argon is an inert gas — it doesn’t react with anything — but it is kept cold for storage reasons. One of the hospital workers came into contact with the gas and suffered chemical burns on their arm.
