Dão blanc 2016, Meia Encosta, Portugal white, $10.45, SAQ #12332301. Good white for  $10? Here’s one. Not the most exuberant in terms of aromatics, but such a comfy texture with notes of pear and apple and a bit of  spice on the finish. Works great at the table. Residual sugar: 3.4 g/l. Grape varieties: malvasia fina, encruzado, bical, fernao pires. Serve at 8C. Drink now. Food-pairing ideas: Thai curries with coconut milk, Indian-style shrimp curry.
