Wind storm update: 700 Hydro-Québec workers race to keep up with outages
More than 180,000 clients of Hydro-Québec were without power as of 2 p.m. Monday as high winds began to sweep much of the province, knocking down tree branches along the way. In Montreal, about 8,000 customers were without power; midmorning, that number hit 11,000.
Environment Canada is warning that winds will pick up across the province throughout the day as a low-pressure system moves from western Quebec to the north of the province.
