Crash kills driver, severs hydro pole east of Montreal. Police are investigating the cause of a late night collision that sent a car careening into the Richelieu River around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. The car was travelling along a country road in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu when its driver lost control and slammed into a Hydro-Québec pole — fatally wounding her.
