What it's like to keep a chicken coop in Montreal

Chickens are making a comeback in Montreal’s Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie borough.
The neighbourhood may be a stone’s throw from downtown but as it turns out, it’s an ideal place for people to harvest eggs right from the source. Some 50 families are keeping chickens in their backyards through a program that started this spring.
One amateur chicken farmer invited the Montreal Gazette to get a glimpse of what it’s like raising chickens in the city.
