Urban beekeeping gives homeless Montrealers confidence, autonomy
Standing on Accueil Bonneau’s rooftop in Old Montreal, overlooking de la Commune St., it’s easy to spot almost every “must-see” attraction for the city’s flock of summer tourists.
But on that roof, you will also find eight carefully arranged beehives. And when one is opened up, with a waft of sweet honey and the buzz of the bees, the view is no longer the focus.
