Update: Lac-Mégantic engineer showed 'reckless disregard'
SHERBROOKE — Locomotive engineer Thomas Harding showed a “reckless disregard for the lives of other people” on the night of the Lac-Mégantic train derailment, the Crown said in its closing arguments Wednesday.
Harding, 56, traffic controller Richard Labrie, 59, and manager of train operations Jean Demaître, 53, are each on trial for one count of criminal negligence causing the death of 47 people.
