Update: Extreme cold warning blankets Montreal, Laval regions

As Montreal sees its coldest Dec. 27 in 24 years, Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for much of southern Quebec, including Montreal.
“This very cold airmass, combined with brisk winds, produces wind-chill values from minus-30 Celsius to minus-44,” Environment Canada said in a statement issued early Wednesday. “The extreme cold will once again be felt overnight tonight and affect all areas of southern Quebec, including Montreal.”
