Update: Atwater market reopens after overnight fire

The Atwater market reopened Friday morning after a brief closing caused by an overnight fire.
It was market employees who alerted authorities to the fire at about 3:30 a.m. The Montreal fire department said it seems the flames took hold in the wooden stalls inside the market and then spread to the building itself.
Material damage is estimated at $50,000. No one was injured in the incident.
