UPAC chief doesn't rule out arrests during Quebec election campaign
Robert Lafrenière, the head of Quebec’s permanent anti-corruption squad — UPAC — performed an about-face Tuesday, saying his team could carry out arrests during the coming provincial electoral campaign.
Last December on Radio-Canada, Lafrenière said he would not allow any search warrants or arrests during that period for fear of interfering with the democratic process.
