UNICEF expects 999 births in Canada on New Year's Day

Nearly 1,000 children will be born in Canada on New Year’s Day, according to projections by UNICEF.
The United Nations agency forecasts that a total of 999 children will be born across the country, including 50 in Montreal.
The MUHC announced its first birth of 2019 earlier Tuesday, with the arrival of Mariella Lachaine.
