Uber blinks as Quebec stands firm on training demands
Quebec’s newly minted transport minister laid down the law to Uber on Friday morning, granting a slight concession on police checks for drivers but maintaining a contentious demand that the service’s drivers undergo a 35-hour training program.
And within hours of that statement’s being made, the ride hailing service had quickly rethought its pledge to halt operations in Quebec as of Oct. 14.
