Two dead after car hits electric pole in Eastern Townships

Two people died after their vehicle hit a live electrical pole in St-Claude, 170 kilometres east of Montreal, on Saturday afternoon.
The vehicle was traveling downhill on Goshen Road at approximately 4:45 p.m. when the driver lost control of the wheel and hit the pole, the Sûreté du Québec said.
The pole was severed and ignited. Firefighters and a team from Hydro-Québec were called in, SQ spokesperson Claude Denis said.
