Trauma response: Quebec launches helicopter ambulance pilot project

The government of Quebec announced Friday it will start using helicopter ambulances in three regions to transport trauma patients, as part of a pilot project.
The project responds to a long-standing plea from trauma and medical specialists who decried the fact Quebec is the only province in Canada without a pre-hospital helicopter program, and Montreal the only urban centre not to have one.
