Tourism brought $4 billion to Montreal in 2017

Tourism Montreal says that the city enjoyed a bumper year when it came to welcoming visitors here in 2017.
Last year the city welcomed 11.1 million tourists, an increase of 5.1 per cent compared with 2016. And those visitors spent $4 billion here last year, an increase of 9.7 per cent.
And while the Conference Board of Canada notes that visitors from France, the city’s main source of tourism, increased by nine per cent, the number of tourists coming here from China skyrocketed by 33 per ce
