The seasonal war on bugs

Spring felt like a long time coming this year. That first coat-optional day when I stepped outside and felt the warm sun on my skin was glorious . . .  until I felt the first tickle of a mosquito landing on my bare arm.
It just seems unfair. Can’t we enjoy a few weeks of mosquito-free spring before stocking up on bug spray to repel the scourge of summer?
