The new Champlain Bridge is finished — mostly

Except for the roadbed, asphalt and some of the cables that will hold it up, construction of the new Champlain Bridge is complete.
Infrastructure Minister François-Philippe Champagne was at the bridge Wednesday to announce the final segments had been put in place on the 3.4-kilometre span.
Champagne also said the bridge will officially be called the Samuel de Champlain Bridge — the full name of the explorer the first bridge was named for.
