'The arm that baptized thousands': St. Francis Xavier relic will visit Montreal

A unique 14-city tour of Canada — that of the forearm of the patron saint of missions, Francis Xavier — began Wednesday in Quebec City. The relic will arrive in Montreal Jan. 28.
“St. Francis Xavier is one of the most revered saints of all time,” Ottawa’s Archbishop Terrence Prendergast said in a statement. “He was a man of extraordinary courage and faith who shared the gospel message of Jesus with thousands across southeast Asia, Goa and India.”
