Students know — but don't always follow — train-crossing safety rules

The day before a 17-year-old girl was severely injured after being struck by a train in Roxboro, officials at Royal West Academy had spent time during an assembly discussing train safety. About 450 of the school’s 900 students take the train.
Hundreds of students use the Montreal West train station, which is adjacent to a busy intersection, and administrators often remind them not to dash for a train if the barrier is down.
