Shapovalov leads seven Canadians in U.S. Open qualifying event

Canadian Denis Shapovalov is the No. 2 seed in the U.S. Open qualifying event which gets under way Tuesday in New York. The 18-year-old Shapovalov, who must win three matches to reach the main, meets No. 173 Denis Kudla of the U.S. in his first match. Shapovalov is No. 69.
