Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Montreal area

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Montreal area, warning that “conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.”
Issued at 4:09 a.m., the storm watch extends to Montreal island, Laval, Longueuil and the Châteauguay–La Prairie area.
