Section of De Lorimier Ave. closed after crumbling soil detected

De Lorimier Ave. remained closed to traffic between Laurier Ave. and Masson St. Wednesday morning after workers assigned to replace a section of sewer line discovered a weakening of soil at the work site Tuesday afternoon.
“The street is not in danger of collapsing,” said city spokesperson Philippe Sabourin. “But when the contractor saw the state of the soil, he stopped work as a precaution.”
