Rosemont residents take zero waste challenge

On Wednesday, Douglas Beeson did something he has never done: he weighed his garbage. Actually, he weighed his garbage, recycling and compost.
The result: 41.5 kg of waste, for two people, in one week.
“Nowhere to go but down from here,” he joked.
The software engineer and his roommate represent one of 50 households selected by the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough to take part in the Défi Zéro Déchet, or zero waste challenge, over the next eight months.
