Roadwork forces Montreal St. Patrick's Parade a block north

After more than half a century running east along Ste-Catherine St., Montreal roadwork has forced this year’s edition of the St. Patrick’s Parade to run west on de Maisonneuve Blvd.
Parade organizers announced on Friday that this year’s route will start at de Maisonneuve Blvd. and City Councillors St., proceed west along de Maisonneuve Blvd., turn south on Mackay St. and pass a reviewing stand erected on Ste-Catherine St. before ending on René-Lévesque Blvd.
