Regular marijuana use can increase psychosis risk in teens: study
Going from the occasional use of marijuana to weekly or daily use increases an adolescent’s risk of having recurrent psychotic-like experiences by 159 per cent, according to a new Montreal study.
The study, published on Wednesday in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, defines psychotic-like experiences as “experiences of perceptual aberration, ideas with unusual content and feelings of persecution.”
