Recount keeps Montreal borough councillor from swearing-in

With a court-ordered recount pending, a candidate who narrowly won a seat in the Nov. 5 Montreal election will not be sworn in with other office-holders on Thursday.
Election results indicate Lisa Christensen of Projet Montréal beat incumbent Manuel Guedes of Équipe Denis Coderre by 32 votes for the position of borough councillor for La Pointe-aux-Prairies district in Rivière-des-Prairies—Pointe-aux-Trembles borough.
