Rare, transmissible cancer found in catfish in Quebec, U.S. lakes

About a third of brown bullhead catfish in Lake Memphremagog, which spans the Quebec-Vermont border, have melanoma tumours on their skin. Researchers say the black, lumpy spots are the first known transmissible cancer in fish.
