Quebec's gun registry law effective Monday
The new Quebec Firearms Registration law comes into effect on Monday.
Public Safety Minister Martin Coiteux will outline the details on Sunday in Montreal.
Owners of non-restricted firearms and the companies that trade them will have to register the firearms with the Firearms Registration Service. The service, which will be offered online, will be free of charge for the owners, who will have one year to register. No engraving will be required.
