Quebec pilot sentenced to eight years in U.S. prison for transporting cocaine
A Quebec pilot who flew a plane carrying 290 pounds of cocaine that had to make an emergency landing in Ohio has been sentenced to eight years in prison, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Sylvain Desjardins, 48, pleaded guilty. The Mirabel resident must serve three years on supervised release after prison, during which he could be deported to Canada, the newspaper reported.
