Quebec parents to start receiving $100 per school-age child

Quebec parents with children age four to 16 will begin receiving cheques for $100 to help defray the cost of school supplies.
The money is part of a new Supplément pour l’achat de fournitures scolaires, which covers 1.1 million children. Those with direct deposit set up through the provincial government saw their accounts credited on Friday. For families without direct deposit, the cheques will arrive in the mail in the coming days.
