Quebec Liberals courting Elizabeth Gomery as Marguerite Blais defects to CAQ

QUEBEC — Stung by a series of big-name losses, Quebec’s Liberals are actively courting Elizabeth Gomery, daughter of retired judge John Gomery, as a candidate in the October election.
Liberal insiders confirmed Tuesday that Gomery, herself a lawyer, is on the short list as a possible candidate in the riding of Westmount—Saint-Louis if, as expected, the current MNA, Jacques Chagnon, retires.
