Quebec creates committee to examine domestic-violence deaths

The Quebec government announced on Tuesday it has assigned the province’s chief coroner to head a committee to examine the causes and circumstances of deaths linked to conjugal violence.
Catherine Ruel-Tessier will oversee a committee representing Quebec’s network of women’s shelters, the Sûreté du Québec and other provincial bodies: the office of criminal prosecutions, the public health institute and the departments of public security and status of women.
