Protecting language shapes her identity as a trilingual Tamil Quebecer

Krishnavi Sivanesan’s family fled war-torn Sri Lanka. She grew up in Montreal, determined to pass on her Tamil language and culture. She understands Quebec’s need to protect French language and culture, as do many in her community, but says immigrants are unfairly being blamed for its decline.
