Pointe-à-Callière architect Dan Hanganu dies at 78

Dan Hanganu, the Montreal-based architect who designed the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, has died.
He was 78.
Hanganu’s work “defies tradition, yet incorporates some of its lessons, deploys innovative concepts without falling into the trendy and, ultimately, expresses a deep understanding of craftsmanship and construction,” Ricardo L. Castro, an architecture professor at McGill University, wrote in a May 1990 Montreal Gazette article.
