Ottawa to announce $1.28 billion for Montreal regional train system on Thursday

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will announce Thursday that Ottawa will provide $1.283 billion in funding for Montreal’s planned new regional electric train network, the Montreal Gazette has learned.
Trudeau is scheduled to make the announcement at Montreal’s Central Station with Premier Philippe Couillard, Mayor Denis Coderre and Michael Sabia, chief executive officer of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
