Opinion: Indigenous suicide crisis requires action on many fronts
In the report it released last week titled Breaking Point: The Suicide Crisis in Indigenous Communities, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs provides 28 recommendations to address the issue.
Such attention is welcome, considering that indigenous peoples suffer from one of the highest suicide rates in the world; one that is six to 11 times higher than the general population.
