Opinion: City's new plan for Ste-Catherine St. falls short

The principal objective of the Ste-Catherine St. W. revitalization project was always to ensure the economic vitality of Quebec’s most prestigious commercial artery for the next 50 years.
What Mayor Valérie Plante proposed last week is a commendable urban redevelopment project, but lacks any “signature” elements that would distinguish it from other commercial streets. This distinctiveness is fundamental to attract and retain a new customer base.
