Opinion: Airline security, the kirpan and the CAQ
It was an odd spectacle: A few weeks ago, Quebec politicians urgently passed a motion calling on the federal government to review Transport Canada’s decision to allow blades measuring six centimetres or less onto domestic and international flights except those to the United States.
While the Coalition Avenir Québec, which introduced the motion, claimed it was concerned about airline security, in reality it seemed like yet another case of Quebec politicians playing divisive identity
