One dead in house fire in Lanaudière

One person has died after fire destroyed a house in Mandeville, in the Lanaudière region, just over 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal.
Firefighters were alerted to the overnight fire around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
They evacuated one person in critical condition. Early Saturday afternoon, Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Sgt. Stéphane Tremblay said the person had died. She did not reveal the victim’s name, age or sex.
