'One child is too many': Three young boys drown in separate Quebec incidents
An eight-year-old boy has died after drowning at a pool party in Sherbrooke on Saturday. His death marks the third fatal drowning in Quebec since Friday.
Samuel Ducharme, spokesperson for the Sherbrooke police, called it “an unfortunate accident.” He said there was proper supervision and other children in the pool when the boy drowned, and therefore no criminal negligence. When the boy was found, CPR was performed before he was transported to the hospital, where he died Monday.
