October skies for stargazing

As crisp and long autumn nights begin to settle this month skywatchers can look forwards to variety of celestial shows. The skies promise to feature planetary dances to shooting star shows.
Throughout the first weeks of October early risers can revel as Venus and Mars join forces. Best views of the two planets will be about an hour before sunrise in the low eastern sky. Look for Venus to be the brighter of the two, while Mars appears with a distinct orange hue.
